Tobacco requires a different relative humidity of 70 % humidity . Unfortunately, you can not use two different types of maintenance. It will have the effect of dry your tobacco and your grass is too wet to smoke.

Why do you use glass for the container?

HydroMate™ , we prefer glass over plastic , metal or any other substance because glass is the best container to store the grass. See many advantages to using the following glass :

  • Non- permeable for a hydrated and stable environment.
  • Confinement .
  • strength .
  • Stain resistant and scratch .
  • Eclat colors

Style elegant.

You should never store your herbs in plastic containers because plastic is slightly porous and can react to the detriment of your grass leaving a bitter aftertaste . The metal can also cause a reaction with your grass and reduce the taste and odor . Smoking metal is not pleasant so why use it to store your grass.

We have no plans other than containers made of glass.

Does HydroMate use “Desiccant Packs”?

No, we do not use desiccant packs.  Desiccant packs are used for food and pills to protect products against high humidity by absorbing humidity.  When the pack is expired it turns a different color.  Using desiccant packs promote dry herb and dry herb is bad herb.  Especially in dry states like California it would completely ruin your stash.  We use a Boveda™ two-way humidity pack that establishes and maintains humidity at a perfect 62%.

Can HydroMate™ cause mold growth?

Mold growth begins at ambient temperatures of 70% relative humidity and the conditions grow worse the higher they become.  It is best to store your HydroMate™ at room temperature and feel safe that your herb is at 62% relative humidity.

Why is a HydroMate™ different than other storage jars and methods ?

There are no other products that have the characteristics that HydroMates™ possess.  The combination of these things makes it the only herb manager on the market.  All other jars have some of these but without them all your herb life is limited.

Other methods of storage are by far less superior.  We have seen freezing and refrigeration methods that are bad.  Cold air holds less humidity and promotes dry herb with damaged chemistry making the smoke harsher and less affective.

Other storage jars, because they do not humidify, the air space above the herbs continues to draw out moisture.  Every time you open it you damage your herb more and more.

What is the best material to store premium herb in?

Glass and only glass.  Plastic containers flavor your herb and metals absorb its taste.  If you do not have a HydroMate we suggest the use of an old fashion plastic bag.

Will HydroMate
™ be coming out with larger containers for aging and curing?

Larger containers are currently in planning.  We expect to be adding a 20-liter GLASS container to our line.  This unit shall hold up to one-half of a pound.  Proper circulation of air is required in aging along with caution not to crush the Kush so we are working on larger containers than 20-liters where the buds are not crushed and they can breath.

Can a HydroMate™ rehydrate my ruined herb?

Absolutely!  Place the ruined herb in it and open it a week later.  You will be very happy.  This process may shorten the cap life.

How long do the lids last?

This question greatly depends on the frequency of use.  We like to tell everyone that they last six to 12 weeks, however, if the lid is never opened, the humidifier can last indefinitely.  Remember, the long it is stored the better it will get when you use a HydroMate™.

How do I use a HydroMate™?

Simply open the lid and put your herbs inside, reclose the lid and relax.  Your herb is taken care of.  When the humidifier inside the cap gets hard, replace the lid.

HydroMates™ are hermetically sealed providing a gasket seal preventing air transfer.  As long as the exterior of the jar is clean and smell free so will the contents

Hydrobags™

What is a HydroBag™?

A HydroBag™ is a simple solution to dry terrible premium herb.  Much like the HydroMates, the bags contain the Boveda™ patented two-way humidity device that establishes the perfect humidity and maintains it.  It is however not used for aging because it is not designed to do so.  They are disposable after use and in some cases will last for numerous uses depending on frequency of use.

How do I use a HydroBag™?

Super simple, open it and put your herbs in and then close the zip lock top and that’s it!  It is ready to go as soon as you open it.  We strongly suggest keeping it closed at all time when not in use to prolong the life of the humidifier.

Will the humidifier damage my herbs?

No, the liquid inside is water and salt and it is non-toxic.

How long is the HydroBag™ good for?

The HydroBags™ should last a minimum of one month to 6 weeks with regular use.
